WHO is Aaron? Visit SaveMyDaddy.com

Aaron who is 35 years old, and his wife, Kelly, have a four year old daughter, Maya.  She misses her Daddy tremendously and longs for the day when he is well again and can come home. Since he was a child, Aaron has had a very gentle and generous nature, always wanting to help people.  It is the reason he became a lifeguard, and also the reason he taught toddlers to swim at the YMCA.  Up until the time he went into the hospital, Aaron assisted at Mayas preschool.  She wishes that her Daddy was still able to come to her school and read to the children and help on the playground.  Maya wants him to get well. So do we. Wont you please help?

WHAT is wrong with Aaron?

Aaron Montes De Oca has MYELODYSPLASTIC SYNDROME. (MDS)  This is like leukemia, only in many ways worse. The ONLY cure for MDS is a bone marrow transplant.  Aaron will die if he does not get this transplant.

In order to get a bone marrow transplant you need a genetic donor match.  Aaron is ethnically mixed.  His Father is Hispanic and his Mother is Caucasian. Aaron needs a donor who is a Hispanic and Caucasian mix.  Because of his mixed ethnicity, it is even more difficult to find a bone marrow match. Unfortunately, there are very few donors that fit that profile.

Fortunately, with hope and your help, there is an opportunity to save Aaron. The City of Hope has accepted Aaron for a bone marrow transplant IF a match can be found.  So there is hope, but we need your help.  We need you to join the bone marrow donor registry. Somos familia, we are all family.
